Gary Geddes has written and edited more than 35 books of poetry, fiction, drama, criticism, and translation. His literary awards include the E.J. Pratt Medal and Prize in Poetry, the National Poetry Prize, and the Gabriela Mistral Prize, a prize also received by Nobel laureates Octavio Paz, Vaclav Havel, and others.

In October 2007, Falsework was presented in dramatic form at Vancouver's Arts Club Theatre, with four actors directed by Martin Kinch in a 70-minute adapted performance. Gary Geddes lives on Vancouver Island.
